A new design for a rare and coveted private garden within the Grade II-listed Barbican Estate.
Re-exposing and allowing the garden’s original brutalist structures and proportions to reassert themselves, a restrained palette of plants and stone was devised to create new contrasts between forms and textures.
Over time, selected self-seeders and mosses are being encouraged to naturalise and soften the garden further.
